Rhythm Underfoot: Abbey Porcelain Parquet Blend 3.8 x 38cm

Slender porcelain batons in a dove and ivory blend, made for parquet and chequerboard layouts with the character of aged stone — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Ca' Pietra stockist.

Part of the National Trust Tile Collection inspired by Lacock Abbey, the Parquet Blend supplies both tones in a single box. Arrange them as a classic chequerboard for a heritage look, or run them in a parquet formation to introduce rhythm and movement across a hallway or boot room.

Each baton carries the same subtly textured surface and tumbled edges as the Abbey squares, so a floor reads as genuinely aged stone. Being vitrified porcelain, it is frost resistant, rated R10 and needs no sealing at any stage.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the National Trust Tile Collection?

A range Ca' Pietra developed with the National Trust, drawing on floors and surfaces found in Trust properties. Abbey takes its cue from the worn flagstones of Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire.

How many Abbey tiles are in a box?

The 25 x 25cm squares are supplied 20 to a box, covering 1.25m². The Parquet Blend batons are supplied 38 to a box, covering 0.55m². Add around 10% for cuts — nearer 15% for a parquet or herringbone layout.

Can Abbey Porcelain be used outside?

Yes, within reason. It is frost resistant and rated for domestic exterior floors, so it suits a patio, garden path or porch at domestic loadings. It is not specified for commercial or heavily trafficked external areas.

Why are the edges not perfectly straight?

The edges are deliberately tumbled to replicate the softened arrises of genuine aged stone. Allow a slightly wider 3mm joint so the rounded edges sit comfortably together — a tight rectified joint would fight the effect.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a white flexible adhesive and a soft tonal grout. Allow a 3mm joint to suit the tumbled edges.
  • Layout: Parquet and herringbone generate a lot of cutting — allow nearer 15% extra rather than the usual 10%. Dry-lay a panel first to settle the balance of dove and ivory before you fix anything.
  • Cleaning: No sealing required. Sweep and mop with warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner.
